CBSE Exam Pattern 2013 Class 10th,11th,12th Paper Pattern 2013

CBSE Exam Pattern 2013- Central Board of Secondary Education, also known as CBSE is a Board of Education for public and private schools. CBSE is going to introduce the ‘open book exam’ pattern for its boards i.e. class 10th and class 12th exams from the academic session 2013-2014.

In this section we will discuss the CBSE paper pattern for class 10th, 11th and 12th for the year 2013.
According to the chairman of CBSE, the new paper pattern is introduced to test the higher order thinking skills of students rather than the current rote-based methodology.

The new exam pattern will not be exactly same as the open book exam and will be called ‘Pre-Announced Test’ (PAT). The paper pattern will be applicable for all class 10th subjects and some major ones of Class 12th.

PAT’s Features
  • Before four months of the exam, students will be made aware of the test they have to appear for.
  • Questions will not be straightforward and will test the complete knowledge.
  • They will also test students’ analytical power.

It’s still not made clear by CBSE that how the board will implement PAT for Mathematics where formulae and values are part of almost every topic but complete details on this new pattern is expected to be made by HRD in December 2012.
